The United States government has requested the top executives of major American automobile companies, including General Motors and Ford, to increase their involvement in producing arms. According to a report by Wall Street Journal, senior US defense officials have met with the top executives of various car manufacturers before the war to encourage them to take on a larger role in producing arms.

Under the agreement, Honeywell Aerospace will significantly increase its production of key components for the US military’s weapons stockpile, while Lockheed Martin and BAE Systems will quadruple their production of thermal interceptors. The Iranian ambassador was handed a protest note by the Arab media regarding the attack on Indian oil tankers and cargo ships in the Strait of Hormuz, which carried 20 million barrels of Iraqi oil.

Abdolreza Razavi, the spokesperson for the Central Command, said that the Strait of Hormuz is under strict Iranian control and that there has been no change in its previous situation. During a speech at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, he said that Israel is behind the land grab, not security. Iran will give a formal response to the US proposals, the Supreme National Security Council.
