Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Hina Rabbani Khar, has expressed gratitude towards the US and Iranian delegations for their participation in the negotiations. The US and Iranian delegations, led by US Vice President Joe Biden and Iranian Speaker of the Parliament, Baqer Qalibaf, respectively, have shown a positive response to Prime Minister’s request. In a press briefing in Islamabad, Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar stated that the delegations of both countries have engaged in several rounds of comprehensive and constructive talks. She added that as a Deputy Prime Minister and Field Marshal Asim Munir, she has provided assistance in the negotiating process. Hina Rabbani Khar stated that Iran has uranium enrichment facilities that have been destroyed, and Pakistan wants to prevent Iran from acquiring equipment that could enable them to develop nuclear weapons.
Pakistan will continue to play a facilitating role in the negotiations between the US and Iran, said Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar.
