A medical student from Mirpurkhas, Sindh, has allegedly taken her own life, prompting the police to file a case against her uncle on charges of harassment and coercion. According to the police, the case has been registered against the college principal, a professor, a lecturer, and two students. The FIR lists charges of sexual harassment and coercion to commit suicide.
The student was shifted to a university hospital in a critical condition and is receiving medical aid. Relatives of the student had demanded justice after the incident occurred in the Satellite Town area of Mirpurkhas yesterday.
Police claim that the investigation is ongoing, and legal action will be taken against the accused individuals. Meanwhile, rescue teams reported that 90 injured individuals were shifted to the hospital for medical assistance.
