Pakistan’s Faisalabad Additional Sessions Court has delivered a verdict in the case of a medical student who was subjected to violence and harassment by a trader. The court has sentenced the trader to a total of 14 years and 9 months in prison and imposed a fine of 21.1 million rupees. The court has also sentenced the co-accused woman to 9 years and 9 months in prison and imposed a fine of 61.5 million rupees. The court has acquitted two other accused in the case. According to police, the trader had filed a case against the student in 2022 for allegedly harassing her after she refused to marry him.
In a separate incident, the Pakistan Navy has conducted a joint naval exercise with China in Karachi. The exercise, known as the “Sea Guardian 4,” was held from March 25 to April 1 and included a 5-day visit to Karachi Port and a 2-day exercise in the North Arabian Sea. The exercise aimed to enhance the capabilities of the Pakistan Navy and promote regional security.
