The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued regulations governing access to information. According to the ECP, these regulations will apply to all its offices, and the Chief Information Officer at the Secretary level will oversee the matters. Provincial Public Information Officers will also oversee the matters. The ECP states that any citizen can file a request to obtain information, and the Chief Information Officer or Public Information Officer will make a decision within 14 working days. The ECP has announced that it will charge a fee of Rs. 10 per page for accessing information. If the information is not available, the affected party can appeal to the Chief Election Commissioner within 14 days. The ECP has stated that the records of the Election Commission will be classified or unclassified.
