HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Police responding to a stabbing call in southwest Houston discovered one person dead, officials reported on Friday evening. First responders from the Houston police and fire departments arrived at the 6700 block of Hillcroft Avenue near Bellaire Boulevard, following a report of a “cutting” incident outside a Walgreens. According to the Houston Police Department, one person was pronounced dead at the scene, and another individual, who may be the suspect, was taken into custody. HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A deputy constable has been released from the hospital after being shot at by an armed theft suspect in northwest Harris County on Friday, authorities report. Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman stated that the suspect committed thefts at two Academy Sports & Outdoors stores within an hour. A tree damaged the brick wall along Ron Hale’s northwest Harris County yard. “I have a wall that’s knocked over and some holes in my roof,” said Hale, who was affected by May’s severe storms in southeast Texas. A global stockpile of Ebola vaccines can be used to protect frontline health workers in high-risk countries routinely, rather than just as an emergency measure during outbreaks, international vaccine group Gavi said on Thursday. The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Friday gained more than 1,000 points in intraday trade to hit an all-time high of 77,000, just a day after the trading floor witnessed the biggest single-day gains.
