ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reported the sixth case of poliovirus in as many months this year, equalling the tally for the entire previous year. The case was reported from Balochistan’s Qila Abdullah district on Tuesday, a day after Pri­m­­­e Minister Shehbaz Sharif chai­red a meeting on the polio programme, which was also attended by philanthropist Bill Gates. ISLAMABAD: Justice Babar Sattar of the Islamabad High Court has reserved a verdict on the capital’s police’s request to allow surveillance of suspects, after a crime has been committed. While appearing before the court on Tuesday, Islamabad Police’s Director Law Tahir Kazim said that after the court’s order against surveillance last month, cellular companies have stopped sharing “much-needed data” required for routine criminal investigations. ISLAMABAD: An additional district and sessions judge (ADSJ) on Tuesday reserved a decision regarding the petitions seeking the suspension of the convictions of former prime minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, in the Iddat case. KARACHI: As many as 1,592 people were admitted to Jinnah Hospital during the past 24 hours due to a heatwave in Karachi, ARY News reported, quoting the hospital’s emergency ward in-charge.
