The Pakistani singer Gohar Mumtaz has revealed that Bollywood star Sajay Dev had expressed a desire to use their hit song ‘Adat’ in one of his films. However, the song eventually became a part of Mehesb Bhatty’s film. In a recent podcast, Gohar Mumtaz shared that when he was 19 years old, he received a call from Sajay Dev’s team, who were in Mumbai to launch their new album. He said that his manager told him that Sajay Dev wanted to use their song ‘Adat’ in his film, which left them all stunned as it was an unimaginable opportunity for them. However, the song was eventually included in Mehesb Bhatty’s film.
Gohar Mumtaz also shared that he had a meeting with Sajay Dev in Mumbai, where he asked him how he first heard the song ‘Adat’. Sajay Dev replied that a Pakistani woman had visited him with a CD and asked him to listen to the song. On another occasion, Gohar Mumtaz sang their hit song ‘Ab Toh Adat Si Hai’ at an event in Mumbai, where the audience gave them a standing ovation.
