In a statement, Trump claimed that Iran’s navy is no longer capable of exporting oil, and that the country will not be able to produce atomic weapons.
Iran’s dire situation
Trump stated that Iran is in a very bad situation and that it is of no concern whether Iran returns to the negotiating table or not. He also expressed his lack of admiration for Pope Leo, saying that he is not a big fan of the Catholic leader.
US Secretary of Defense Pat Shanahan warned that Iranian forces may fire on US ships during the blockade. The European Union’s new law on food imports, which is set to take effect, may also pose a threat to Pakistani food products, including honey, which is produced using certain agricultural chemicals banned in Europe but still used in many other countries, including Pakistan.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir were praised by Trump for their exceptional leadership. The US Navy will block, divert or seize any ships that enter or leave the blockaded area without permission.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry said that the talks between the two countries covered the possibility of negotiations in Islamabad. French President Emmanuel Macron urged for no gaps in diplomatic efforts to resolve the Middle East conflict.
