Iran’s Manbij school bombing has resulted in a tragic loss of 53 lives, with 63 others left injured. The Iranian Ministry of Education confirmed the devastating news, citing that US-backed Israeli airstrikes had targeted the Manbij school. According to the ministry, Iranian forces had anticipated the attack and were prepared to defend themselves.
The situation escalated when US and Israeli forces launched a series of airstrikes on various Iranian cities, including Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, Karaj, Kermanshah, Lorestan, and Tabriz. A missile struck the Iranian presidential palace, with several senior commanders and politicians among the casualties. Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was reportedly relocated to a safe location, while Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi managed to escape unharmed.
Russian Foreign Ministry called for an immediate political and diplomatic solution, urging restraint in the escalating conflict. The situation took a grim turn when a missile was fired at the Mufak Salaty Base in Jordan, targeting US forces, and explosions were reported in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital.
The international community condemned the airstrikes, with the European Union calling for Pakistan and Afghanistan to reduce tensions and initiate talks. Former Iranian Shah’s son, Reza Pahlavi, urged the Iranian people to take to the streets once again, hinting at an imminent return to protests.
As the situation unfolds, tensions continue to rise. Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz confirmed that the operation aimed to neutralize the Iranian regime’s threat, warning that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps had three options: surrender, be treated with leniency, or face certain death.
The US, under the leadership of former President Donald Trump, also weighed in, stating that the operation aimed to eliminate the Iranian threat. In a separate development, Pakistan’s Karachi Airport announced that it would no longer provide parking facilities for unidentified flights.
Meanwhile, Middle East tensions spilled over into Pakistan, with reports of fuel shortages and stockpiles running perilously low. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian reassured the nation that their military was prepared for the attack.
The situation also took a dramatic turn when the Israeli military announced that it had targeted hundreds of Iranian military targets, including missile launchers, during the airstrikes.
