Bannu: In a significant operation, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested a top-wanted terrorist commander in a intelligence-based operation. According to the CTD, the arrested terrorist commander, identified as Asamah, alias Daniyal and Baaghi, hails from Bannu and was a active commander of the newly emerged terrorist organization, Ittihadul Mujahideen Pakistan.
Asamah has confessed to involvement in nine major terrorist activities, including an attack on Assistant Commissioner Miran Shah, Shah Wali Khan, and a car fire incident in December 2025. He has also revealed his involvement in the kidnapping and murder of former SHO Abid Wazir.
The CTD claims that Asamah was also involved in the kidnapping and murder of three leaders of Laki Marwat Peace Committee. This development has raised hopes for a possible resolution to the ongoing protests in the country.
Meanwhile, PTI leader Asad Qaiser has said that there should be no compromise on the health of the party’s founding chairman. He added that normalizing the environment is the responsibility of the government.
In a separate development, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Deputy Director of Immigration, Shahzad Akbar, has confirmed that all 20 counters at Karachi Airport’s immigration department are operational.
MQM leader Sherjeel Memon has said that the party is part of the federal government and has urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to hold talks with the Sindh government. “Everyone has their role in the constitution, and if someone is criticizing, they should be allowed to do so,” he added.
In another development, PTI leader Sheikh Waseem Akram has said that the report of PTI Chairman’s health should have led to immediate action for his treatment.

Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, has said that the government has taken steps in the past to resolve the issue, but they were unsuccessful. He added that the government’s stance on PTI Chairman’s health is a key issue.
Federal Minister for Interior, Senator Talal Chaudhry, has said that the country’s interests are above all else, and the government will take steps to ensure the country’s progress.

In a separate development, Federal Minister for Interior, Senator Mohsin Nawaz, has told the PTI Chairman that he will be shifted to a new prison once the Islamabad jail is fully operational.
