The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet, led by Chief Minister Suhail Anwar Khan, has approved the establishment of a new tehsil in District Tank. The cabinet also approved an additional grant of 385 million rupees for the families of martyrs. The meeting was attended by the Chief Minister and other senior officials.
During the meeting, the cabinet approved the Ramadan Support Package for low-income families. The formation of a new Quran Board and the appointment of members of the National Commission on Minority Rights were also approved. Additional funds were allocated for police infrastructure projects in southern districts.
The cabinet also approved the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Kalash Marriage Bill 2025 and the Hindu Marriage Amendment Bill 2025. A plan to construct a fruit and vegetable market in Tehsil Bara was also approved.
A representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) has been assigned to conduct courses on emergency response in the WSSP area. The cabinet also approved the payment for the acquisition of land for a graveyard in Mardan.
The cabinet also approved the draft of the Policy for Empowering Women 2026-2030. According to sources, Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is expected to stage a protest in front of the Parliament House’s main gate.
PTI leader Talal Chaudhry said that PTI is now playing a sympathy card, while PTI leaders are trying to hide behind their health issues. Rana Sanaullah, responding to Chaudhry’s comments, said that if the government or the jail authorities are inquiring about Imran Khan’s health, it is a serious offense.
PTI leader Raja Nasir Abbas was quoted as saying that the opposition wants to know the truth about the government’s role in Imran Khan’s health issues.
