The Pakistan Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has conducted an operation in Gwadar, resulting in the seizure of 1.2 tons of narcotics and the arrest of two smugglers. According to sources, the operation was carried out by intercepting a truck on the Quetta-Bushehr highway, where secret compartments containing the narcotics were discovered. The seized narcotics, worth $66.15 million on the global market, would be valued at over 18 billion Pakistani rupees.
Sources claim that the arrested individuals have revealed that the seized narcotics were smuggled in from Afghanistan. The ANF has been involved in various operations, including tracking a group that used boats from Gwadar to smuggle narcotics to Gulf countries, Yemen, and Tanzania.
The arrested individuals have been charged, and raids are being conducted to apprehend other members of the group. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the residence of Aun Abbas, who was killed during a suicide attack, and led the funeral prayers for the victims. Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the head of the Jamaat-e-Islami, has emphasized the need for a working relationship between the federal government and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
