LONDON: A protest outside the Iranian embassy in London turned violent, leaving four people injured and several detained. According to the Metropolitan Police, a protester climbed onto the embassy’s balcony and removed the Iranian flag, sparking a tense standoff. The police said that protesters threw objects at officers during the protest, resulting in some officers being injured.
The London Ambulance Service reported receiving a 999 call at 8:45 pm, stating that four people had been injured in an incident on Exhibition Road and Kensington Road. Two people were given first aid on the spot, while four others were taken to hospital.
The protest is part of ongoing demonstrations outside the Iranian embassy in London, which began in response to the killing of hundreds of protesters in Iran. The Iranian ambassador was summoned to the Foreign Office in London this week, following the latest protests in Iran.
