In a major development for Pakistan’s agricultural and economic landscape, a consignment of high-quality livestock imported from the United States has successfully arrived in the country, thanks to the robust support of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). This initiative, executed in collaboration with the Cloud Agri Group, is being hailed as a historic step aimed at elevating the nation’s dairy sector to international standards.
The move is expected to potentially yield a multi-fold increase in both milk production and the export of dairy products, thereby boosting the country’s economic stability.
These imports are part of the Green Corporate Livestock Initiative (GCLI), which is actively working under SIFC’s patronage to modernize Pakistan’s livestock sector. The GCLI plays a crucial role in national development by implementing modern breeding technologies, genetic improvements, and various training programs focused on the scientific management of animal health, nutrition, and reproduction.
SIFC’s support has been instrumental in securing the necessary investment and forging international partnerships for this significant project. It follows a successful shipment in 2024 when a consignment of high-yield cattle from Brazil arrived in Pakistan, which was widely acclaimed.
Officials state that this latest action, implemented under the “National Herd Transformation” program, will play a positive role in raising the standards of the livestock sector to a global level, ultimately enhancing the country’s self-sufficiency in milk production and increasing its export potential.
