The Special Communications Organization (SCO) has marked a major milestone under its ‘Vision 2025’, bringing new opportunities and hope to the youth of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB). The organization has successfully established 100 state-of-the-art IT setups across the region.
According to the details provided, this initiative is already changing lives. It has directly created over 700 jobs and empowered 1500 freelancers, connecting them with the global digital economy.
A key achievement of this vision is the establishment of Pakistan’s first-ever women-only Software Technology Park in Muzaffarabad. Furthermore, the project has shown its commitment to inclusivity by setting up independent residential centers for individuals with special needs.
The DG of SCO confirmed the achievement, stating, “A total of 100 joint IT parks have been established in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.” He highlighted the significant economic impact, noting that these efforts have successfully generated approximately $20 million in foreign exchange for the country.
Impressively, this entire network of IT parks was completed in a record time of just two years. The SCO has reiterated its strong commitment to empowering the region’s youth and leading a full-scale IT revolution in the area.
