TEHRAN – Iran has strongly condemned the United States’ decision to resume nuclear testing, labeling the move “irresponsible” and a significant threat to global peace and security.
In a sharply worded statement, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared, “A mischievous country is resuming nuclear weapons tests.” He added, “This mischievous, nuclear-armed country is a threat to world peace.”
The intense criticism comes after US President Donald Trump ordered the resumption of American nuclear weapons testing, ending a 33-year moratorium.
President Trump stated that the U.S. would “immediately begin testing its nuclear weapons on an equal footing.”
According to a British news agency, this decision by the Trump administration is widely seen as a direct response to the expanding nuclear programs of China and Russia, sparking fears of a new global arms race.
