US Vice President J.D. Vance has stated that the ceasefire in Gaza is holding. However, in a statement, he also mentioned that an Israeli soldier was attacked in Gaza by Hamas or another group, and an Israeli response was expected.
On the other hand, Hamas has rejected the allegation, stating that they are abiding by the Gaza ceasefire agreement. Hamas clarified that it has no connection to the attack on Israeli forces in Rafah.
Hamas warned that it considers this incident a violation of the ceasefire by Israel and, as a result, the handover of hostages’ bodies will be canceled.
This situation developed after the Israeli military, on the orders of Israeli PrimeE Minister Netanyahu, had earlier conducted three airstrikes on Gaza. These strikes resulted in two Palestinians being killed and four others injured.
