Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has issued a sharp response to recent statements by US President Donald Trump, rejecting his offer of negotiations as nothing more than “coercion and bullying.”
The statement follows a speech President Trump delivered to the Israeli parliament a few days ago, in which he reportedly claimed he would destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities, while also suggesting a peace deal between the US and Iran would be “very good.”
According to Iranian media, Ayatollah Khamenei dismissed the offer. “Trump calls himself a merchant,” the Supreme Leader said. “A deal that is made under pressure, with a predetermined outcome, is not a deal; it is coercion and bullying.”
Adopting an uncompromising stance on the nuclear program, the Supreme Leader stated: “Trump can keep dreaming of destroying Iran’s nuclear facilities.” He further questioned the US position, asking, “Does the US president have the right to tell another country whether it should or should not have a nuclear industry?”
