Following the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) significant decision to appoint fast bowler Shaheen Afridi as the new captain of the One-Day International (ODI) team, the management of his Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise, Lahore Qalandars, has extended their congratulations and full support.
Atif Rana, the CEO of Lahore Qalandars, expressed his confidence in the appointment, stating that Shaheen is well-prepared for the responsibility. “Shaheen Afridi has already proven his leadership skills in the PSL,” Atif Rana remarked, highlighting Shaheen’s success with the franchise.
Echoing this sentiment, Lahore Qalandars’ COO, Sameen Rana, also voiced his strong belief in the fast bowler’s capabilities. Sameen Rana affirmed that he expects Shaheen to meet the high expectations that come with the national captaincy, stating, “Shaheen Afridi will definitely live up to the expectations.”
The PCB has confirmed that Shaheen Afridi’s first assignment as the new leader will be the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa, where he will lead the Pakistan side.
