Annual APPNA Convention in Dallas: A Beautiful Blend of Music, Medicine, Poetry, Fashion, and Youth Activities Featuring Singers Atif Aslam and Arif Lohar!

Dallas, Texas – The 48th Annual Convention of APPNA (Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America), a prestigious and representative organization of Pakistani-American doctors in North America, will be held from July 9 to July 13, 2025, at the renowned Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas.
This convention is not only an academic platform for medical professionals, but also a harmonious fusion of Pakistani culture, literature, entertainment, and family unity, where tradition and knowledge, modernity and effort, youth and experience will shine together.
Hundreds of Pakistani doctors, their families, young students, and professionals from various sectors are expected to participate in this convention from across the United States, Canada, and other countries. Among the distinguished guests will be Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States.
As part of the event, Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions will be conducted daily. In these academic gatherings, leading physicians from around the world will present their research, experiences, and educational lectures, serving as a strong pillar for the continued academic growth of doctors.
To attract female attendees, a dedicated bazaar and boutique section has been set up, featuring dozens of well-known brands from Pakistan, offering clothing, jewelry, beauty products, and household items. The level of interest among the female participants is expected to be remarkable.
For the youth, special youth programs have also been arranged, including workshops, debates, matchmaking sessions, and social media leadership programs. Events like “I Love Pakistan” and “SAYA” are designed to reflect the enthusiasm and energy of the new generation of Pakistani-Americans.
In addition to the academic and youth events, the convention will also host literary and cultural evenings. These include mushaira (poetry readings), fashion shows, and musical performances. Well-known Pakistani singers Atif Aslam and Arif Lohar, along with renowned poets, fashion models, and actors from Pakistan, will dazzle the audience with their performances. The stage will echo with music while the fragrance of poetry and expression fills the air.
A special Robotics Kids Zone has also been established for children, where both educational and recreational activities will be organized to ensure that attendees of all ages remain engaged and entertained throughout the event.
During the convention, APPNA’s annual elections will also take place, where the new leadership of the organization will be chosen. In addition, there will be alumni dinners of various medical colleges, board meetings, and research forums. Dedicated spaces such as the “GupShup Lounge” and “Council Meetings” will allow participants to freely exchange ideas and hold discussions.
Award ceremonies will also be held to honor those doctors, researchers, and other professionals who have rendered outstanding services in their respective fields, particularly those who have contributed to the improvement of public health in the United States and Pakistan.
This year’s convention is being led by Dr. Humera Qamer, who will shed light on APPNA’s current activities and future vision in her role as President. She is supported by Convention Chairman Dr. Mohammad Tariq, Media Coordinator Dr. Tahir Khaili, Co-Chairman Dr. Fazal Akbar, APPNA’s General Secretary Dr. Sanaullah, and President-Elect Dr. Babar Rao, all of whom are working actively and wholeheartedly to ensure the convention’s success.
Under the theme “APPNA as a Family,” this year’s convention is promoting family bonding, cultural identity, and community engagement. This event is not merely a gathering of physicians residing in the U.S. and Canada — rather, it is a movement — one that aims to connect generations of Pakistani-Americans, preserve cultural heritage, and blend knowledge with service.
It is important to note that APPNA Convention 2025 is a unique platform where art and science, medicine and culture, youth and senior wisdom, and U.S.–Pakistan relations are reflected in a positive and meaningful manner. This is not just a typical event — it is a caravan of service, identity, and collective unity.
