The Pakistan Army organized a significant Under-16 football talent hunt tournament for the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s merged districts.
Eight teams, representing diverse regions including North and South (Upper and Lower) Waziristan, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, and Kurram, participated in the tournament.
Following a series of competitive matches, the Mohmand team emerged as the victor, with the North Waziristan team securing the runner-up position. Both teams were selected by the Pakistan Army for their football development program.
The local commander, during a post-tournament ceremony, distributed prizes to the players, acknowledging their participation and achievements. “It is vital to identify and cultivate talent from all regions of the country, and this initiative aimed to achieve just that,” stated Colonel Malik, the local commander.
The tournament’s primary objective was to cultivate sports interest among youth, complementing their academic pursuits and ensuring well-rounded development. Local youth and elders expressed their gratitude to the Pakistan Army for organizing the tournament, praising it as a positive step for the region.
