Bachelor Nation alum Katie Thurston has announced that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The 34-year-old, who was a contestant on The Bachelor Season 25 and later starred in The Bachelorette Season 17, took to Instagram on Saturday to share the heartbreaking news.

“Life update: I have breast cancer,” Katie began her heartfelt post.
She continued, “Yesterday, I saw everyone celebrating Valentine’s Day, and honestly, I felt envious. Jeff had planned to take me to Hawaii, and afterward, we were supposed to travel the world before settling down in NYC. But instead, my Valentine’s Day was spent figuring out where to live as I return to LA for more tests and treatment.”
Reflecting on her journey, she wrote, “I’ve gone through a wave of emotions over the past two weeks—despair, anger, sadness, denial, and then strength. Purposeful. Ready. I cried a lot. I even tried making a video instead of this post, but I just couldn’t.”
A Special Message for Her Fiancé
Katie concluded her post with a heartfelt tribute to her fiancé, writing: “I saved the best for last.”
