Director Matt Reeves revealed that “The Batman 2” will be delayed until 2027.
Warner Bros. Studios has rescheduled the film’s release from October 2, 2026, to October 1, 2027.
The upcoming movie will continue the storyline from the 2022 release.
Speaking on the red carpet at the 2025 Golden Globes, Reeves explained that while the cast will begin shooting this year, it will take another two years to complete the final product.
He teased that while the story continues, fans will be surprised by the direction it takes.
Warner Bros. attributed the delay to the use of advanced technology and VFX.
Meanwhile, “The Penguin,” a spinoff from “The Batman,” received nominations at the Golden Globes, with Colin Farrell winning Best Male Actor.
The new Batman movie will pick up where the 2022 film left off. Reeves also shared his desire to complete “The Batman” trilogy, but it will be a longer wait for fans.
