Islamabad: PTI leader Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has been appointed as a member of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP), following the approval of Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi. This nomination was endorsed by Opposition Leader Omar Ayub.
Gohar’s inclusion comes after Omar Ayub and Shibli Faraz resigned due to multiple legal cases against them. Both former members cited challenges in fulfilling their duties under current circumstances.
The JCP oversees judicial appointments and evaluates the performance of judges. Omar Ayub expressed confidence in Gohar’s integrity and legal expertise to positively contribute to the commission.
