Mumbai: Bangladeshi adult film actress Rhea Barde has been arrested in India for allegedly residing on a fake Indian passport.
Rhea was taken into custody by the Hill Line police in Ulhasnagar, near Mumbai, after a tip-off regarding a Bangladeshi family living in Ambernath using fraudulent documents.
During the police investigation, it was revealed that a person from Amravati had prepared fake documents for Rhea and three other individuals.
Charges have been filed against Rhea Barde and her associates under Section 14(A) of the Foreigners Act, 1946, and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for illegal residency and the use of fake documents. The police are also on the lookout for four of Rhea’s associates.
Rhea’s mother, Ruby Sheikh, who is a Bangladeshi citizen, resides in Qatar, while the police are investigating Rhea’s other relatives who may be involved in the preparation of the fake passports. Further inquiries are ongoing for Rhea’s sister, Ritu, also known as Muni Sheikh, and her brother, Riyaz Sheikh.
According to police reports, Rhea Barde has previously worked in productions by Raj Kundra and has appeared in various films alongside actress Gehna Vasisth. Rhea was also arrested earlier in connection with a prostitution case.
