Lahore: Singer Waris Baig has revealed that renowned Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt apologized to him for copying one of his songs.
In a podcast interview, Waris Baig stated that Mahesh Bhatt included his song in his hit film “Murder” without permission. However, Bhatt later reached out to apologize, explaining that he was unaware that the song belonged to a Pakistani artist.
Waris Baig further commented that many of his songs have been copied over the years. He noted, “If someone copies my song, I don’t take it to heart. Nowadays, YouTube sends strikes to those who copy, but during the time when we were working, there was no such system. Many of my songs have been copied in Bollywood films.”
