Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkan has criticized the global community, stating that it will not forget that the order to assassinate Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah was issued to Israel from New York.
In a statement following the confirmation of Nasrallah’s death in an Israeli attack, Pezeshkan asserted that the U.S. cannot absolve itself of complicity in the assault on the Hezbollah leader.
He noted that the Israeli strike in the southern Beirut area of Dahieh, particularly the killing of Nasrallah and other key leaders of the resistance movement, will only strengthen the resistance.
President Pezeshkan described Hassan Nasrallah as a symbol of pride and resistance for Muslims, stating that he ultimately fulfilled his long-standing dream of martyrdom.
He emphasized that Nasrallah’s bravery and acts of courage against enemies cannot be encapsulated in words, and added that Hezbollah would become even more successful following his assassination.
It is important to note that the attack on Nasrallah occurred during the ongoing 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, shortly after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech, when Israel launched an assault on the Lebanese capital.
In response to Nasrallah’s death, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei called on all Muslims to stand with Hezbollah, stating that the incident has unveiled the ugly face of the Zionist regime.
Hamas and other resistance organizations condemned the Israeli attack, asserting that Nasrallah’s martyrdom would further empower the resistance movements.
