England’s 33-member squad, led by Ben Stokes, is set to arrive in Multan on October 2 to compete in a three-match Test series against Pakistan.
According to sources, the English team will be accompanied by 16 players and an equal number of team officials. Their arrival in Multan has been confirmed for Wednesday afternoon, following a transit in Doha.
Notably, eight players in the touring squad—Harry Brook, Rehan Ahmed, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Jack Leach, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, and captain Ben Stokes—were part of the team that defeated Pakistan 3-0 in 2022.
In contrast, the national team, under Babar Azam’s captaincy, was recently swept in their last series. Six members from that team—Azhar Ali, Haris Rauf, Faheem Ashraf, Imam-ul-Haq, Wasim Junior, and Mohammad Ali—are not included in the announced squad for the first Test.
Instead, Saeem Ayub, Mohammad Harirah, Aamer Jamal, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Mir Hamza have been selected to join the team.
The last time the England Test team toured Pakistan was in December 2022, where they inflicted a humiliating 3-0 defeat on Pakistan in a three-match series.
