The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that players who failed to pass or were unable to attend the previous fitness tests will be given another opportunity to qualify.
According to media reports, the new round of fitness tests is set to commence on September 30, where 8 to 10 players are expected to participate. In the previous fitness tests, some players were unable to attend, while a few others couldn’t meet the required standards.
The PCB has decided to provide a second chance to ensure that no player faces penalties based on fitness alone. This decision allows players to improve their fitness levels and qualify without the risk of facing fines.
The upcoming test will include a 2-kilometer run alongside other physical assessments to thoroughly evaluate the players’ fitness.
Additionally, the PCB recently announced the appointment of a sports medicine consultant to ensure timely diagnosis of players’ fitness issues. The consultant will work closely with domestic physiotherapists to maintain the players’ health and fitness.
