Russian Ambassador Albert Khuryf has stated that the recent attack in Swat will not impact the relations between Pakistan and Russia.
In response to the incident in Swat, Ambassador Khuryf emphasized that the event would not affect the cooperation between Pakistan and Russia. He expressed confidence that the growing collaboration between the two nations would remain unaffected by the attack, underscoring the importance of counter-terrorism cooperation at both bilateral and multilateral levels.
Ambassador Khuryf also mentioned that foreign diplomats would provide financial assistance to the family of the police officer who lost his life in the Swat attack. He extended his condolences to the bereaved family and wished a speedy recovery to the injured police personnel.
It is noteworthy that yesterday, an attempt was made to target a convoy of foreign diplomats with explosive materials on the Malam Jabba Road in Swat district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The police mobile assigned for the convoy’s security was caught in the blast, resulting in injuries to four police officers. Tragically, one injured officer, Burhan Khan, succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Fortunately, all diplomats were reported safe, although the attack occurred near Jehanabad, targeting the convoy of foreign diplomats.
