Srinagar: Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has indicated a willingness to engage in conditional negotiations with Pakistan.
Rajnath Singh stated that India is ready to embrace Pakistan and initiate dialogue, but emphasized that Pakistan must guarantee an end to its promotion of terrorism within India.
While addressing election rallies in the towns of Kotranka and Sunderbani in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir region, Singh criticized the Congress and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for advocating talks with a nation that supports and encourages terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
He highlighted that terrorism backed by Pakistan has claimed thousands of lives in Jammu and Kashmir, with 80% of the victims being Muslims.
Referring to alleged remarks made by Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Singh noted that the Pakistan-Congress alliance appears to be on the same page regarding Article 370 of the Indian Constitution. He described Asif’s statement as absurd and an interference in India’s internal affairs, adding that Pakistan has become an international brand of poverty and misery.
