HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Brrr! Temperatures Wednesday morning are expected to drop into the upper 30s and low 40s. You can expect more cloud cover to move in. This cloud cover should stick around throughout much of Wednesday but we could see some breaks in the afternoon.
Afternoon temperatures will remain in the 50s, as much 10-15 degrees below normal.
Will the cold air stick around?
Yes, all this week! Behind this front, even colder air will pour in, keeping highs in the 50s and pushing lows into the 30s by the end of the week. It’s even possible for the freeze line to make an early appearance in Southeast Texas, and frost is possible on Friday morning.
How does the weather look for the weekend?
Rain is coming back on Saturday as another cold front pushes into Houston. The rain will clear out for Sunday allowing the sunshine to return. Saturday’s temperatures will bottom out in the mid 40s and warm into the mid 50s. Sunday morning will dip into the 30s and a light freeze and frost is possible in Southeast Texas. Highs will again only warm into the 50s.
What’s the early outlook for Thanksgiving?
At this time Thanksgiving Day is the warmest day we have on our 10 day forecast! The Gulf breeze will return after the weekend, bringing back mild, humid air from the Gulf. This also means there could be some rain on the holiday. For now we expect a morning low near 60 and a high in the low-to-mid 70s. We’ll refine the details as the day approaches.
