HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — After a fairly widespread soaker yesterday triggered by a weak front drifting through our area, the rain won’t be quite as widespread today. Today that front will be stationary along the coast, and that’s where the best chance for storms will be. Houston will have a low chance at 30% and it will be very hot.
How do our rain chances look later this week?
Rain chances decrease a bit Wednesday but start to really increase Thursday and Friday as an area of low pressure moves north from the Gulf sending more moisture our way. While it is some much needed rainfall, keep in mind that some of that rain could be heavy and lead to localized flooding or ponding on roadways.
Is there anything worth watching in the tropics?
Potential Storm Two has formed in the Atlantic. It’s tracking towards the Windward Islands and will stay well to our south. The Gulf system is being watched off the Louisiana Gulf Coast. This system has a low chance of development but is expected to send moisture our way this week helping with our rain chances.
