Pakistan Minister of Information and Culture, Azma Bokhari, has stated that the provincial government has no connection to the fine imposed on fast bowler Nasim Shah. She emphasized that the matter falls entirely within the jurisdiction of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and is governed by their code of conduct.
Speaking to the media, the provincial minister stated that the fine is a matter for the PCB to handle. When asked for her personal opinion on the matter, she took a firm stance, saying it was better not to comment further as she did not have any positive words for the cricketer. Azma Bokhari emphasized that Nasim Shah is a professional cricketer and should conduct himself accordingly, unlike a troll.
It is worth noting that Nasim Shah recently posted a comment on social media platform X, criticizing Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz. The PCB had issued a show-cause notice to the fast bowler. Nasim Shah submitted his response to the disciplinary committee and also appeared before them. However, the post was later deleted. The PCB subsequently issued a show-cause notice to the fast bowler, following which he was fined approximately Rs 200 million.
In a subsequent statement on X, Nasim Shah asked for public forgiveness, stating that the post did not reflect his personal views but rather those of his management team. He accepted full responsibility for his actions and assured that steps would be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future. Nasim Shah is currently representing Rawalpindi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
