Pakistani actor Ali Tahir, known for his work in the stage and television industry, has expressed concerns over the concept of second marriages in Islam. Speaking on a recent TV show, he stated that people do not adhere to the basic principles of Islam and often neglect its true spirit. According to Ali Tahir, if one considers the permission for more than one marriage in Islam, it is granted under specific circumstances with the condition of equality and justice, which is extremely challenging to achieve. He emphasized that men are reminded to act with fairness and justice, particularly when it comes to second marriages, and both parties should agree to the union.
Senior actress Rubina Ashraf, who was also a part of the TV show, shared her thoughts on the matter, stating that she has never seen a situation where all parties involved are in agreement over a second marriage. She concluded that a second marriage is never an ideal situation and often does not turn out to be successful.
It is worth noting that Ali Tahir is the son of renowned educationist and writer Naeem Tahir and TV personality Yasmin Tahir, and is married to actress Wajiha Tahir.
