Peshawar, Pakistan – A recent earthquake has caused significant damage to the historic Raj Kapoor Haveli in the Duka Manora area of Peshawar. According to eyewitnesses, the earthquake’s jolts have affected the structure of the building, resulting in the collapse of one of its walls. Director of Archaeology Abdul Samad revealed that the Raj Kapoor Haveli is approximately 200 years old and has been declared a national cultural heritage site by the government, along with Dilip Kumar’s ancestral home. A 6.1 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the region, affecting various cities including Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Azad Kashmir.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) confirmed that the epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan at a depth of 190 kilometers. The earthquake was felt in several cities, including Peshawar, Nowshera, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Muzaffarabad, Sargodha, and Muree.
