Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the suspension of Lahore Qalandars’ batsman Fakhar Zaman for two matches due to a breach of Level Three Code of Conduct. According to PCB, the ban was imposed on Fakhar Zaman for violating the Code of Conduct, specifically regarding ball tampering. The match referee, Roshan Mahmuod, will now make the final decision after hearing Fakhar Zaman’s perspective.
Fakhar Zaman was found guilty of violating the Code of Conduct during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) match against Karachi Kings. The incident occurred in the sixth match of the PSL, where Zaman was accused of ball tampering. The first hearing of the case was held prior to this and Fakhar Zaman had denied the allegations. However, the second hearing was conducted yesterday, and the PCB has now announced the ban.
Fakhar Zaman has the right to appeal the decision, which he can do within 48 hours. He will not be able to play in the next two matches for the Lahore Qalandars, including the match against Multan Sultans and Islamabad United.
This development comes as a significant blow to Fakhar Zaman, who has been a key player for the Lahore Qalandars in the PSL. The incident has sparked a lot of debate and discussion in the cricketing world, with many calling for stricter penalties for players who engage in ball tampering.
