PM Advisor Rana Sanaullah Says No Issue with PM Meeting Opposition Leader Akhundzada

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Advisor on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has stated that there is no issue with the Prime Minister meeting the opposition leader, Maulana Akhundzada, in the opposition chamber. The Prime Minister remains hopeful about negotiations and believes that parliamentary democracy advances through such meetings.
In a conversation with Geo News, Rana Sanaullah stated that he had suggested to Maulana Akhundzada that he meet with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, and he had said that he should meet with the Leader of the Opposition and the Leader of the House. Rana Sanaullah further stated that he had told Maulana Akhundzada that if he deemed it suitable, he would arrange a meeting at a convenient time. Maulana Akhundzada had replied, “Wait for a few days, and I will inform you.”
Rana Sanaullah stressed that if Maulana Akhundzada wishes to meet with the Prime Minister, the latter would welcome him. The Prime Minister would meet with the opposition leadership as soon as the parliament convenes.
The Prime Minister’s Advisor emphasized that there is no issue with the Prime Minister meeting Maulana Akhundzada in the opposition chamber, as the Prime Minister has full faith in negotiations and believes that parliamentary democracy advances through such meetings.
During a recent meeting with the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, discussions took place regarding security and finance, with the Prime Minister emphasizing the need to activate the CTD and provide resources. The Prime Minister expressed a positive response to the provincial government’s concerns regarding their relationship with the federal government. Federal ministers, including Musadiq Malik, Ahsan Iqbal, and Amir Muqam, were also present at the meeting.
