HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — It’s beginning to look (or at least feel) a lot like Christmas in Southeast Texas!
Cooler temperatures have settled in behind a cold front that moved through Sunday morning. Those will stay put for both Monday and Tuesday with morning lows starting in the upper 30s or low 40s each day, afternoon highs in the upper 50s or low 60s. But we’ll pair these chilly temperatures with more sunshine and a calm breeze.
How long will the cool weather stick around?
We’ll keep these below average temperatures through mid-week until the next rain-making weather system rolls in Thursday. That should also boost afternoon highs back to the 70s with the potential for warmer temperatures next weekend too.
When’s the next chance for rain?
By Thursday we’ll have enough moisture back in place to spark a 60% chance of showers and storms. Rain chances will continue through the weekend too with more of an unsettled pattern taking hold. There’s a chance for some strong to severe storms as well, so we’ll be monitoring the weather closely.
