HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Happy Thanksgiving! A gentle rainmaker is blowing through on this Thanksgiving Day, and that will keep temperatures on the chilly side with highs only in the mid 50s.
A few light showers are possible in Houston before noon. The rain will last off and on through the afternoon. Because the rain will be falling through dry air, much of it will evaporate before reaching the ground. This has a cooling effect on the atmosphere and will keep temperatures trapped in the 50s all afternoon. If it rains more than expected, temperatures may even drop back into the upper 40s. Your chance of getting measurable rain is at 40%, and total accumulations should only measure a tenth of an inch or less.
Will there be more rain after Thanksgiving into the weekend?
All of Friday and most all of Saturday still look to be dry! So you shouldn’t have to plan around any rainy weather if you’re hitting the shopping malls after Thanksgiving Day. Until Saturday night, that is. The next weather disturbance will actually kick rain chances up to 60% Saturday night with a 30% chance of showers lingering past sunrise Sunday.
