HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Warm conditions continue this weekend with the addition of tropical humidity by Sunday.
Temperatures Saturday night will fall to upper 60s overnight, a noticeable difference for our morning lows because of the addition of tropical moisture. With that southeast Texas could also see a few areas of fog develop overnight that may slow you down on the road earlier Sunday. All that fog should lift pretty quickly after sunrise with temperatures climbing into the mid-upper 80s. Then we keep the humidity heading into the new week and add a daily rain chance with more of an unsettled, summery pattern lasting through the end of the week.
Ragweed, elm tree, and grass pollens remain high, so keep that in mind if you have allergies to those pollens and plan to spend time outside this weekend.
When could we get more rain?
Deeper moisture will move back into the region Monday to bring scattered downpours back to Southeast Texas. Higher rain chances are expected toward the end of next week as the tropical moisture remains overhead and as a front approaches from the north.
Any early predications for Halloween?
Funny you should ask as the timing of the next potential strong cold front is expected to move through by the end of the month. This is still over a week away, so the timing and potential impacts could still be anywhere from October 29th through 31st. This front does have the potential to be a stronger one, so scattered thunderstorms and a cool down afterwards are possible.
What is happening in the tropics?
We are now in that time of year when we have to pay closer attention to what’s happening in the Pacific since those storms can recurve into Mexico and send heavy rains to Texas. Currently, we are monitoring two systems in the Pacific. A hurricane named Norma and a system just east of Norma are likely to bring rains to Texas next week.
