Zara Tindall made a cheerful appearance at the Wellington International Horse Trials on Monday, following her decision to decline King Charles’ invitation to spend the summer at Balmoral Castle.
The daughter of Princess Anne was seen enjoying her time in Hook, Hampshire, where she competed on her horse, Classicals Euro Star. This came after reports that Zara and Mike Tindall had opted out of joining the 75-year-old monarch at his Scottish residence.
Sources had previously revealed that King Charles, who is battling cancer, had hoped for Zara and her family to join him for a bank holiday service at Balmoral. However, Zara chose to participate in horse competitions instead, a decision that reportedly disappointed the King, who wished to have family time during his summer break.
Despite this, Zara and Mike’s children are known to have a close relationship with Princess Kate and Prince William’s kids. The Prince and Princess of Wales made a surprise appearance at the Church service on the Balmoral Estate, adding a delightful moment to the holiday.
