Young Scooter, the Streetz Krazy artist, has died at the age of 39.
He was pronounced dead on Friday, his birthday.
His body was transported to Grady Marcus Trauma Center from a location on the southeast side of the city.
Atlanta Police Department’s Lt. Andrew Smith told TMZ that the rapper, whose legal name was Kenneth Edward Rashaad Bailey, was injured during a foot chase with police.
Bailey is believed to have died from a leg injury sustained while jumping fences.
The musician was reportedly fleeing the rear of a residence when officers responded to a disturbance call.
Smith confirmed that no gunshots were fired during the incident.
Bailey, who collaborated with artists like Future and Gucci Mane, had also faced drug trafficking charges in 2008.
