A disappointing finish has concluded Pakistan’s participation in the IBSF World Snooker Championship currently underway in Doha, Qatar, as national player Muhammad Sajjad was eliminated from the tournament following a defeat at the hands of his American opponent. This loss has extinguished Pakistan’s hopes for the global snooker title.
Muhammad Sajjad, who was granted direct entry into the Round of 32, failed to overcome the challenge posed by Andy McCloskey of the United States in the second event of Stage One, losing with a frame score of 2-4.
McCloskey secured his victory with frame scores in his favour being 41-71, 80-1, 11-45, 11-71, 79-40, and 35-73. Sajjad’s exit from the snooker arena is an emotional blow for Pakistani fans who were backing him.
Previously, Muhammad Sajjad had shown promise in the tournament, achieving a dominant 4-0 frame victory against Abdullah Al Attar of the UAE in the second event of Stage One, but he could not sustain that momentum against the American player.
