A woman in the UAE state of Fujairah was robbed of 195,000 Dirhams in a clever roadside theft, but police were able to arrest the two suspects involved.
According to Emirati authorities, the incident began after the woman left a bank with the cash and was driving home. The two thieves had been following her car from the bank.
As she was driving, one of the suspects pulled up next to her and signaled that her car had a flat tire. The woman, concerned, stopped her car and got out to check the tire.
As soon as she was outside, the second thief quickly entered her car, grabbed the money, and both men fled the scene.
However, the Fujairah police acted quickly. With help from Sharjah Police, they tracked down and arrested both thieves in the emirate of Sharjah just three hours after the robbery. Officials also stated that the two men were found to be involved in similar distraction-style thefts in other emirates.
