According to records, Victoria Woolfolk, a resident of Clear Lake, Texas, has been charged after leaving her two sons, aged 7 and 9, home alone on Mother’s Day.
Allegedly, Woolfolk departed her residence at the El Dorado Trace Condos around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday and did not return until 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, leaving her children unsupervised.
Authorities were alerted when the 7-year-old child sought help from a neighbor because he and his brother were unable to contact their mother. The neighbor promptly notified the police, prompting a welfare check.
When approached by at her condo on Tuesday, Woolfolk declined to explain the circumstances surrounding her decision to leave her children unattended. However, police reported that she admitted to going out to dinner and spending the night at her boyfriend’s residence.
Woolfolk was subsequently arrested on Sunday morning and charged with abandoning a child. While this is her first arrest, police disclosed that they had previously responded to incidents at her residence. On April 2, officers were called for a family disturbance involving Woolfolk and her child’s father, who she refers to as an ex-husband, but he claims to be her current husband. Another call was made on April 3 after Woolfolk allegedly cut the man during an argument, though she asserted it was in self-defense, resulting in no charges being filed.
Following Woolfolk’s arrest, the children were placed in the custody of their father.
