Mumbai: The long-standing question about the dominance of Bollywood’s three biggest Khans—Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan—and who the true “King” is, has finally elicited a direct answer from renowned Indian filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. The director of unconventional films like ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ openly shared his perspective in a recent interview.
In his discussion, Anurag Kashyap compared the popularity and unique attributes of the three superstars, stating that Shah Rukh Khan is the most popular globally. He ranked Salman Khan next in terms of popularity, followed by Aamir Khan. However, he singled out Aamir Khan as the most hardworking and intelligent actor among the trio.
Anurag Kashyap praised the unique style and qualities of all three superstars, acknowledging that each has carved an indelible niche in Bollywood through relentless effort and establishing a distinct identity. His statement immediately captured attention on social media, where a large number of fans agreed that Shah Rukh Khan remains the most universally popular Indian star today.
Interestingly, Anurag Kashyap’s filmmaking style has always been unconventional, and he has yet to direct a film with any of the three Khans. He did, however, appear in a brief acting role alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Zoya Akhtar’s film ‘Luck By Chance.’ It is also noted that Anurag’s brother, Abhinav Kashyap, directed Salman Khan’s superhit 2010 film ‘Dabangg,’ but the exceptional success of that film reportedly led to differences between the two brothers that persist today.
