White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated on Wednesday that President Donald Trump retains the option to impose sanctions on Russia if he deems it necessary.
During a news briefing, Leavitt discussed the Gaza Relief Foundation, which was established to provide food aid to Palestinians, and acknowledged reports of individuals awaiting assistance being targeted by gunfire. She clarified that President Trump was not previously informed about the Ukrainian drone attack on Russia but remains optimistic about finding a potential resolution to end the conflict in Ukraine.
Leavitt confirmed that President Trump will attend the upcoming NATO summit and noted that the United States is currently engaged in favorable trade agreements with several countries.
Furthermore, Leavitt affirmed that President Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, has submitted a proposal to Iran regarding a nuclear agreement. She warned, “Should Iran reject the proposal, it will face serious consequences.”
