WhatsApp is developing a feature for its users to easily search for draft messages through a preset chat list, which will be released in a future update. This new chat list for draft messages, already accessible in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.18.17 update, enables users to locate all conversations containing draft messages, as reported by WABetaInfo.
A draft message refers to any text that has been composed within a conversation but has not yet been sent. It is visually marked with a green color within the chats list to enhance its visibility for users. For instance, this can occur when users begin writing a message but decide to postpone sending it.
Currently, users are required to manually scroll through their entire chat list to identify conversations that contain draft messages. This can prove to be a time-consuming endeavor, especially for individuals who engage with a high volume of chats. The popular Meta-owned instant-messaging application aims to streamline this process with its forthcoming feature by introducing a specific filter that will automatically display all chats with unsent drafts in the future.
This functionality will be particularly beneficial for users who frequently compose messages across multiple conversations and leave them incomplete. By simply selecting the new “Drafts” filter, users will be able to instantly bring up a dedicated list of all conversations that contain unsent messages. This convenient tool will help ensure that no important message is inadvertently forgotten or overlooked due to distractions or busy schedules.
It is important to note that this new filter will be a preset option. This means that users will not need to manually configure or set anything up once the feature becomes available, as it will automatically appear when draft messages are present. Furthermore, users will have the option to remove the draft filter at any time if they do not find this list useful. Should their needs or habits change later, they will still retain the ability to re-enable the filter and utilize it as required.
The preset chat list for draft messages is currently under development and is slated for availability in a future update.
